John Bednarski

Biography

John is the Chief Engineer for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. In this role, he oversees an annual capital budget of more than $250 million. This work, which primarily consists of rehabilitation and replacement of aging infrastructure is executed by an in-house engineering staff of more than 350 professional and technical personal along with consultant support. John has more than 35 years of experience in the design and construction of heavy civil water infrastructure projects. From 2005 to 2010, John was the program manager for the $1.1 billion Inland Feeder pipeline/tunnel project for Metropolitan. More recently, he has led the development and planning of Metropolitan’s $3.4 billion regional recycled water program. John is a professional engineer in the State of California, and holds Masters degrees from the University of Southern California in Environmental Engineering and Public Administration.
