Rik Thijssen has over 25 years of experience in innovation and business development in several sectors including 13 years at Vitens as Director Business Development & Innovation and member of the management team. Innovation, sustainability, circular economy, customer technology and smart water are his main areas of interest. He holds a BSc in microbiology, a Business Administration & Business Strategy degree from the AOG School of Management and finished the Leading Digital Transformation & Innovation program at INSEAD.
He is member of the Innovation & Technology Commission of the Dutch Employers’ Organization, Council Member of SWAN Forum, Member of the IWA Steering Committee on Digital Water and Advisory Council member of Emerald Technology Ventures in Zurich.
